2020 October Bullet Journal Set Up

It is fall!! I love fall. October is the first full month of the season and of course I had to do a theme that has to do either with fall or halloween. I chose to do a halloween theme this year but I didn’t want to have only one element of halloween. I can only stand to draw so many pumpkins. So I spent some time on Pinterest to find many different spreads that corresponded with halloween. I am going to use many different colors within this spread, but I am okay with that. Surprisingly, the element I think I need to work on is the candy corn. I figured that would have been one of the easiest to draw. I really enjoy drawing the bats through. I really hope you like this theme as much as me. Halloween, to me, is the beginning of all the holidays here in the US, and I am so ready to get to them.

For the cover I really wanted to add a bunch of different element of this theme. I hope for the future weeks to have each spread based off one of the elements on this cover. I might come up with some others too, but this is a good base. Like one week could be all bats and the next week be all pumpkins. I really like the fortune tell ball element I found and how it turned out. It also allows for more colors besides the usual orange and black. The only element I think I missed that I now think of is bones or skeletons. I hopefully can add it later in the weeks.

This is the only page in the spread I did not really liked how it turned out. I do like that I added all the extra boxes to the beginning and end of the month, but I don’t think I should have filled them solid with the colors of the spread. Or maybe I should have not used some of the colors. If I could fix it I would probably draw more of the elements within the boxes instead. I do like the larger candy and bat on the side. I would add more of those with in the boxes. Or maybe color all the extra boxes in with black. I think that would have looked cool.

This month, for my habits, I did go back to writing out all the dates. I have not done this in a while, but in September I kept getting off on the days. This will help keeping that from happening. I do like the ghost I added to the page. I breaks up the habit spaces and they are cute. I tried to add elements of the mystic ball to the habit title with the colors and stars within them. I am thinking of marking off the days that I do the habit with the purple also. For the play list page, I did add a new candy that I really like. I really wished I used this font on more pages. I like how it looks with this theme. I will probably end up using during the weeks. I also think my candy corns are getting better!

I really wanted to make the whole goals page black with the white writing, but the pen was not working well. If I had some black paper to glue down, I think that would work better. Use that for later in the month. I think these pages look a little more informal and that will only add when I start writing in them during the month. I wanted to do at least one page with the title in bright colors and so the brain dump page ended up being it.

I brought back the books read page to the front. I usually put it in the back of the month after all the weeks, but I have enjoyed having in the front. I didn’t want to use both pages for the first four days and I did not want to try and squeeze the next full week with them also. I added more of the wrapped candies to the page using the colors for other elements to fill them in. For the first through the fourth I did the ghost bodies with the numbers within them instead of the eyes and mouth. Then I used orange to write out the days. I wanted to keep it simple and it looks nice. That is my October set up. I cannot wait to finish out this month. Welcome all the holidays!
